New name, same person
Okay, small bit of admin. I’m changing the name of this thing. The Chapter Club is now Same Person, Different Tax Bracket. I know it’s a mouthful, but at least it’s honest.
I started this two months ago and I’ve written enough since to finally clock what I’d been circling, which took embarrassingly long. I thought it was a newsletter about staying yourself while your life keeps moving. It sort of is. But I kept tiptoeing around the money, and the money is sort of the point. I get to say what I actually think and stay who I am because I built enough independence that nobody I’d have to lie to pays my bills. That’s the whole trick, and it’s not very romantic.
I also kept my actual job out of here, on purpose. I co-founded a design agency, and this newsletter was meant to be the one place I didn’t have to talk about work. Which is a bit absurd, because that agency is the entire reason I have the time to sit around writing and thinking and sending you this. It’s a huge part of me and I was being precious about keeping it offstage. Turns out the how of it might be useful to someone who isn’t me.
So I’m going to write about all of it now, and it lives in three corners.
Out of the Bracket is the money one
How someone from a small French family with no money and no one to ask ended up with a business, some investments, and a passport that has seen things.
Told straight, never as tips.
The Workshop is the back room:
What I’m building and testing right now, what’s working, what’s currently humiliating me.
And the Saturday Letters
Stay exactly what they always were, the part with nothing to do with money or work, the small daily stuff, the funny ones and the ones that quietly wreck me. That last one matters just as much. This was never going to turn into a money newsletter, god no.
Same person in all three corners.
And if any of it makes you change one small thing, a habit, a room, the people you answer to, good. Not to become a new person. Mostly to stop pretending to be a slightly worse one.
You don’t have to do anything, you’re already here.
The next one just turns up with a different name on it.
See you Saturday, and thank you to be here!
Adeline.

Congrats on the rebrand! Excited for more of the same under the different packaging haha
